World Labyrinth Day Walk (Palm Desert, CA)
Every year on the first Saturday in May thousands of people around the globe participate in World Labyrinth Day as a moving meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience. Many “Walk as One at 1” local time to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy passing from one time zone to the next. We join this wave by offering a walk at 1 pm on May 6th. All are welcome, no experience needed. And for those who prefer we will have hand held labyrinths available.
The outdoor labyrinth at St. Margaret’s is modeled after the labyrinth constructed in the Sanctuary of Chartres Cathedral in France in 1201. Both labyrinths have eleven circuits, or rings, surrounding six-petal rose centers. It is located in the courtyard south of our church building.

St. Paul's will celebrate World Labyrinth Day with two walks in our outdoor labyrinth led by Jennifer Redelle Carey, Labyrinth Trainer. We have invited faith and community groups to meet to walk as this body-mind-spirit connection occurs globally. There will be children's events like finger labyrinths to trace, rocks to paint, and bird seed labyrinths to create. In our Sanctuary the labyrinth mat will be open for additional mediation walking. Jennifer has created a video depicting labyrinths around the world, which will be shown in the church. Bring your own food and picnic blankets to enjoy our grounds and courtyard; food and treats will be available for purchase.
