World Labyrinth Day in Educational Settings 2025

Since 2019, World Labyrinth Day in Schools, and now broadened to Educational Settings, has been observed on the Friday before World Labyrinth Day. In 2025 this will be Friday, May 2nd.  For this year’s event, we have prepared a new suite of resources to support teachers and schools, available by clicking here.

Creating Peaceful Paths is our focus for World Labyrinth Day in Educational Settings 2025.

What a world it would be if each and every young person had the opportunity to make their own handheld labyrinth and, as a regular practice, begin walking for inner peace – which of course not only benefits their own wellbeing but also radiates out to impact everyone and everything around them.

The labyrinth is a super tool for assisting students in the areas of (SEL) self-awareness and self-management, i.e. through noticing and naming feelings, settling and focusing, quieting the mind and heart, and managing emotions.

We are conscious of the fact that many, many schools do not have a walkable labyrinth on site, and neither do they have access to one nearby. With that in mind we determined that Creating Peaceful Paths would be our theme for 2025. The good news is that there are so many easy and creative ways to engage young people with labyrinths, not the least of which is to give them an opportunity to make one of their own. So why not make this your goal for WLDES 2025! And while they’re on a roll, they could even make another to give to someone and teach them how to use it.

And if this seems to be the right time to attempt a walkable labyrinth for WLDES and beyond, whether that be temporary or permanent, we are also offering some starting points for you in this particular endeavor.

Join us for our February 1, 2025 pre-WLD workshop and you will be introduced to all kinds of ideas for making handheld labyrinths, larger pop-up labyrinths, and ways to walk for peaceful heart-space.
